  • The salary amount offered initially by the employer is usually a starting point for negotiations - not the final offer.
  • Employers typically expect you to negotiate.
  • Many 'non-monetary' items can be negotiated along with your salary such as vacation time, job title, work hours and tuition reimbursement.

Having been a company recruiter for years,  your CareerCrafter, Marie, has in-depth knowledge and experience negotiating offers with thousands of candidates in all areas and levels of employment.  Marie can coach you in areas that will greatly impact your negotiation process:

  1. Begin subtle negotiation tactics in the beginning stages of the interview process to set the stage for future negotiations.
  2. Develop and follow a strong negotiation strategy.
  3. Know how to most effectively handle a verbal offer to leave room for negotiation.
  4. Learn how to analyze the total benefit package to determine what you need and want to negotiate.
  5. Role play and coaching to prepare you for actual negotiation.
