The JobSwap™
program is a 12 session program held over a 3 month period.
The following represent the basic steps of the JobSwap™
program.
Step
1: Taking Stock; An in-depth look at YOU.
Assessment of your
interests, values, personality, preferred work environment and
perceived skills. The results of each assessment will be
interpreted for you by your Career Specialist, with your input and
feedback.
Using
you’re your Job Swap workbook and working closely with your Career
Specialist, discover your prime motivators and pinpoint early
aspirations that can be indicators of possible careers.
Identify obstacles to success and negative recurring career
patterns. Examine
your beliefs about success, career and work, reframing those that
keep you from achieving a satisfying career and living your best
life.
Step
2: Develop Career Options
The
in-depth assessment process will result in the development of
several good career options that will best fit your personal
lifestyle, educational level and financial goals. Whether your new career choice is self-employment, landing a
certain job, changing careers or creating a totally new job, you
will be guided through the process of exploring each option.
One
of the unique advantages of JobSwap™
is the opportunity to identify and interview professionals currently
engaged in the type of work you think you want to do.
Their advice and input, based on practical, real life
experience can bring you much closer to that ideal job.
Step
3: Develop an action plan and career strategy
Now
that you’ve decided which career option works best, your Career
Specialist will work with you to develop a solid career strategy and
an action plan that clearly lays out a path for career success.
Your career strategy will be unique, reflecting your own
needs and goals. Your JobSwap™
workbook contains many of
the elements that you will need to formulate plans and for goal
setting.
Step
4: Create a great resume to target your “ideal job”
Now
that you know “what you want to do when you grow up”, it’s
time to write a very targeted resume.
With the right focus and the presence of key words and
acronyms, your resume is much more likely to gain the attention (and
interest) of hiring managers in your new chosen field.
You’ll be well on your way to getting that “ideal job”
and living your best life.
