Career Counseling Philosophy
As Owner of CareerCrafter™,
I believe that you have the answers you need
within you and that my job is of facilitator and career
coach. I am trained to listen fully to what you say
and then to ask important questions that will allow the
answers to surface. We work together to create a career profile for you
that best reflects who you are and what you want to express in the
work world. I have the deep belief that each person is
unique and has special gifts and talents. I look forward to
each consulting session with you, excited to see what special
talents lie below the surface!

About Our Ownership
Our owner, Marie, is a Career Specialist with
16 years experience in the Career and Employee Development field,
providing high quality, one-on-one career counseling to thousands
to thousands of individuals.
Prior to starting her own career business,
Marie was Director of Corporate Career Services for a national
career development firm. Former
corporate clients include: Lockheed Martin, U.S. Government Training
Office, IRS, FDIC, Mobil Oil, TXU, Mayo Clinic, Nortel Networks, Los
Alamos Laboratory and Texas Instruments.
Marie has also held positions as Co-Manager of
Mobil Oil’s Corporate Career Center and as Manager of Counseling
Services for a government outplacement center, serving over 3,000
employees from seven contracting companies.
She is well-versed in all areas of career development and job
search and has designed workshop materials and taught classes in
every subject area. She has counseled thousands of individuals
one-on-one, with amazing career results.
Prior to working full time in the career and
employee development field, Marie was an internal recruiter for a large,
high-profile, research facility, responsible for
interviewing, selecting and hiring thousands of employees at all
levels of the organization. Marie’s
experience in screening resumes, conducting interviews and salary
negotiating is extremely helpful to her many career clients seeking
new jobs.
Marie holds an M.A. in Counseling from Amber
University and a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Texas -
Austin. She is a
member of the National Career Development Association and the
American Counseling Association.
She is an active member of the Society for Human Resource
Management and is a former board member of the Northern New Mexico
Human Resource Association in Santa Fe, NM. She has held positions in the past as President of the Career
Advisory Board for the Talented and Gifted Magnet School of Dallas
and Job Coordinator for the Dallas Chapter of ASTD. She is a former
recipient of an ASTD awarded scholarship and the “Innovation
Award” for outstanding service and innovation in the area of
Career Development.
Marie is certified in administering and interpreting a
wide variety of career assessments and is a frequent speaker on
career and employee development topics nationally.
